Sewing day

I sewed a lot yesterday, finishing off some projects and starting others.

This was a bear pillow I had started last year the second of two. I finished sewing it and stuffing it finally.

I made a matching table runner type thing for my other table in the living room.

I decided to try my hand at making a braided rug, it's going to be a long project but it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

These are one inch strips of old jeans

This is three of them braided together.

This is the material I am using. Red white and blue.

And lastly I wanted to try hand stitching a pillow, this is the first one I have ever done and I like it.

Until next time. TTFN.

Having fun

My sewing room gets so cluttered sometimes, partly because the other half holds a table with my husbands hobby things, which I don't mind a bit. And partly because it's the put everything in room when the house is being cleaned. I've been having a little fun lately and I'll show you what I'm up to.

This is a piece I did for the center table in the living room. I didn't like how plain it looked and I have always liked this kind of fabric.

This was a smaller piece I did before Christmas and I'm not sure if I posted a picture of it or not.

and this is a piece I was working on, similar to the top picture before my sewing needle broke and I had to stop. The pillow in the background needs more stuffing and it will be finished. (I plan all my trips down to walmart because it would cost a lot in gas to go every day).

I'll post more as I make progress.

Christmas project

For Christmas I wanted to do a project for a great family. I didn't cost much at all I just bought scarves at the dollar store and I am going to applique names on them.

Here is what I'm starting with and being as I've never done this on scarves or this kind of material before we'll see how it turns out.

Snowman

I wanted to try my hand at making a snowman out of muslin. I think he turned out okay but he still needs eyes, nose, buttons and hat then we will see.

I made this table runner around the end of October but refrained from posting it because I made my mother in law one just like it and wanted it to be a surprise.

I also made my sister in law one but for some strange reason didn't take a picture of it. I have a few more to take pictures of but will post them later. There's a lot of catching up to do on the main "out in the country" blog.
